SUCCESS RATIO
Ideally you have scored a number of 100 or more. This ratio is created by dividing your treatment case acceptance rate by your overhead expense as percentage of gross revenue. For example, if your acceptance rate is 60% and your overhead runs at 60%, 60/60=1 x100=a score of 100 on the success ratio. A very healthy practice will have a score of at least 100. To improve this stat, see the primer on treatment plan acceptance by clicking here or the one on reducing overhead expense by clicking here.
This is a broad indicator of how your practice is performing. Most practice I see fall into the 50 to 60 range. That is not terrible, but shows that you have lots of upside potential in your practice. If your Sucess Ratio is much higher than 100 and your production isn't at a satisfactory level, it would indicate that your treatment planning may be too conservative.
It is probably easier to raise your Success Ratio by increasing your treatment plan acceptance rate than to lower your overhead expense However, if your overhead expense exceeds 70% (and you do not employ an associate dentist), you may be able to lower your expenses.
